Interesting article, wish I'd known all this much sooner, we had to pay $30,000 break costs to go from a fixed loan at 8.75% to the current variable rate of 5.04%. Hopefully we will recoup those costs over the next two years. Unfortunately we needed to lower our repayments somehow to make them more affordable.
